The dogs made it easy.

1. Tell us about the dogs, please! How many, brand?
How many cows? I did nothing as interesting!

2. It wasn't that much fun, trust me.

It is very hot here around 100 or a little more and the cows didn't want to move from the shade and creek.

It was Vet time, cows don't like it either.

Afterward the cows went back to the creek and shade, looking very pissed.

The dogs are just big shorthaired cowdogs, the dogs are blond and about 90 lbs.

They know their jobs and do it well.

There were 54 pissed off cattle.

I was riding a horse, how's that.

4. Sounds lovely, actually
Wish I'd been doing that.

Dogs knowing their jobs, cattle being pissed, but not freaked out. I'm moving back to Cheyenne later this year, this sounds about right to me.

I hope you had a peaceful time of it. :) Even as hot as it was.

Take care.

6. The dogs are just great, so damn smart.
They go with cattle in morning and bring them back at night.

It was sort of fun, except for the heat.

We started work early, and then stopped at 11 and finished later in the day.

The cows did not want to leave the creek and shade, can't blame them.

It is finished now.

The cows are all female, and will increase the herd next spring.

3. I was at the beach most of the day
The water was glorious--clear and not too cold.

For the rest of the evening, which was RATHER unusual, see the "All roads lead" thread.

5. Just got back from spending the week in Beantown.
It was quite fun. Right now sitting here watching Dexter and drinking a Sierra Nevada.

7. My dear texanwitch!
I think you had some fun, riding horseback and herding some pissed off cows!

I can't ride to save my life.

We spent part of the day up at my children's new house! We had a picnic and it was a perfectly lovely time!

:hi:

8. Sounds like you had a great day.
The secret is to relax, the horse knows what to do.

It has been awhile since I have been on horseback, but this horse was very gentle.

9. I woke up to a flock of wild turkeys up on the hill behind us.
My dog pretended to charge them but she stayed so far away, I could tell her heart wasn't really in it.

lol
