I'm getting tired of the upper classes laying the blame on
Edited on Wed Aug-18-10 04:47 PM by Stargazer99
teachers in lower-class schools. It isn't the teachers, stupid...a child with adequate food, shelter and healthy family will learn. What will solve much of the problem is decent paying jobs. Anyone at the bottom of this stinking mess can see it. Those of you on the top side think you are solveing the problem by firing teachers are stupidly coming from your circumstances. Firing teachers may solve the problem for upper class schools as they have the where with all to support those children in their homes. Get out of your ivory towers (and quit helping the wealthy destroy our people) and experience the reality that lower class children must cope with instead of thinking you know it all.

1. They are just using a few bad teachers as an excuse to undo big unions. That is their end goal..
to get wages lower. If they cared about education they wouldn't be always voting tax cuts for themselves that bankrupt states. Look a Kalifornia.

2. And people less informed
Informed people have a chance to make informed choices, and that's the last thing corporate America wants.

4. Exactly. Children will be taught that tax cuts and deregulation are the only way to fly in grade 3
at charter schools.

3. You're totally harshing my late-night Lounge experience
Beyond that, teachers are entirely to blame for poor student performance, just like dentists are entirely to blame for their patients' poor dental hygiene.

Um...
