4. He failed his tryout with the SF Giants?
Seriesly.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MC_Hammer#Early_life

Hammer, who played second base in high school, dreamed of being a professional baseball player but failed to make the final cut at a San Francisco Giants tryout. However, he has become a regular participant/player in the annual Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game wearing an A's cap to represent Oakland (American League).

5. I never understood why people would try to join some group that decides if they can join.

To give someone the ability to say if you can or can not be part of something just does not make sense.

It seems to be giving up ones own actions to someone else to try and win some approval of some group or person.

10. I'm rather happy that the...
I'm rather happy that the Dallas and Detroit Symphony Orchestras decide who may or may not become a member, as the alternative seems somewhat... unappealing.

9. Hammer used to sample other artists' music, such as Rick James's "Super Freak"
to make "You Can't Touch This." So he had a live band perform the music to accompany his rap, "Too Legit to Quit."
