1. Oh hell yeah
I might offend by saying this but I'm always kind of glad when the US gets eliminated because it cuts down on the frenzied media bullshit.

5. Of course. I like the international flavor of it. I'm not ashamed to
say that I have never fallen for that flag waving crap (usa jingoism.)

8. Still? Never did. But I agree with the flag waving USA jingoism crap.
Right, we're #1 and we have to crush everyone in any international athletic endeavor. I don't cheer for the US in hockey either.

9. I'm watching
about as much as I did when the U.S. was still in contention. I watch some of the matches off and on. Mainly check out scores and highlights either on-line or on SportsCenter.

10. Oh yes

Four South American squads in the final eight: Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay. It would be tremendous if all four advanced to the semis and two to the finals.

Thinking Uruguay will beat Ghana and advance.

Edited on Thu Jul-01-10 11:38 AM by KamaAina
It feels a bit strange to bear a Dallas Cowpies-style animus towards a country whose sole exports are cacao beans and shea butter... but this is twice in a row now! :grr: :banghead: :argh: :nuke:

15. Absolutely, now that the dead weight is gone
Once Bob Bradley and Sunil Gulati are fired, I'll start pulling for the US again. With those two jokers in charge, there's nothing to pull for.

19. Yes.
As far as the USA is concerned, anything they acheive beyond the group stages is a nice bonus.

23. All my teams are out of Cup contention
First to go was Italy (my grandpa's spinning in his grave at their pathetic showing); next was the US (heartbreaking loss to Ghana in extra time/overtime); last was Portugal (I still think David Villa was offside--heartstopping loss though).
