What's not to adore about watermelon? You know you shouldn't eat the rind, right? Just the delicious, fleshy sweet thirst-quenching pink middle section that melts in the mouth.

11. I love watermelon
It's so sweet and juicy. Then the old-fashioned kind has lots of seeds that you can spit out. My siblings and I used to have watermelon seed spitting contests.

Well, to each his own.

39. It's just possible that will make you not like Rush.
Good taste might overcome you.

Funny story you won't like but might appreciate. The other day some new song off some upcoming album by Rush came on the radio, and just for you, I made myself listen to it. Sounded like what I remember--like they were trying to be cool instead of making music--so I wasn't much into it. My daughter came in the room after the song started, and after a while she said "What is that crap?" When I asked why she didn't like it, she said "It's like some high schoolers pretending to be cool. Sounds like Rush." I love that kid!

She's the musical prodigy in the family and is in love with classic rock and all things rock. So it isn't just me, although it could be genetic.

Maybe you like haggis? There's still some in the back of Teh Lounge refrigerator, left over from our November 2004 election watch party. At least, I think it's haggis

32. what about watermelon flavored jolly ranchers or starbursts?
:9

yeah if it was the last "food" you would pretty much be screwed since as its name implies, it's just water with a bit of flavor and some seeds.

a good one can be wonderful, though. I have a great summer memory of the best tasting watermelon of my life. Coming back from a roping (amatuer rodeo-type event) with my grandfather one time after a summer storm. A wash we had to cross to get home was flowing high and there were several vehicles sitting around waiting for it to go down. This is not the inconvenience many would think. Out here in those days (and to some extent still) it is a chance to celebrate the rain and visit with some neighbors. One of the vehicles was a big truck with a tarp over it's cargo area - yes full of watermelons. Don't remember if somebody bought one or if the owner just gave some away (probably) but we enjoyed those melons and fed the rinds to the horses back in the trailer. Heaven!

47. Hey Lynne. add me to the list as well.
I have never liked watermelon. Even when I was a kid, all my friends just loved it, but I didn't like the taste or the mouth feel of it.

I remember parents of my friends telling my mother I was a picky eater, because I wouldn't eat it. It was like a mortal sin, hating watermelon.
