Your name is oddly appropriate for this thread. When we first were going out, we didn't talk politics at all. It was a different time, I guess.

Our first political conversation was after the 2000 presidential election. We walked to the polls together, we walked home after voting. We sat down at the dinner table, and I thought: I don't want to ask this, because if he voted for Bush we're going to have problems. But I did finally break the silence by asking who he voted for. He said "Nader, but I want Gore to win."

I started laughing because I voted for Gore, but wanted Nader to win. :D

Me: well, I wasn't there for THAT wedding, but yeah, I remember.

Sis: Oh GOOD! What was the date? I need it for the divorce papers!

Me: (Well, a face palm just doesn't work over the phone. ;) )

When she asked her grown son what day the anniversary was he responded, oh it's that day when ##### would panic and buy sickly blue flowers at Safeway on his way home and you would get pissed off that he didn't plan something....

But she didn't remember the date. I have NO idea why that marriage didn't work out.

14. Ours is tomorrow, too.

It will be 32 years. The annual town carnival and summer festival starts tomorrow. I think we might go there and eat junk food and walk around. I don't want to do anything fancy or expensive anyway.
