5. I don't particularly enjoy the TASTE of any coffee.
.
I truly DO drink it for the medicinal effect. I used to drink Starbucks
White Chocolate Mochas (yuh-huh-HUMMY) with an extra shot or
two before itstruck me with sledgehammer-force how much I was
spending annually for that pleasure.
.
Tried their coffee for about 2 bucks rather than $4.50.
.
Climbed the fucking walls!!!
.
Exactly what I wanted from coffee.
.
Noticed something interesting -- just TRY to get ANY Starbucks
employee to talk about the caffeine content of their regular coffee.
They will change the subject, find something else to do (or maybe
somewhere else to be), or just pretend that they didn't hear the
question.
.
I think Starbucks is anticipating some future movement against
caffeine as there have been against fats and such -- and it sure
SEEMED policy NOT to discuss a single word about caffeine levels.
.
Why aren't they TRUMPETING this? The anticipated backlash, methinks.
.
I had to go online to an independent source to find test results about
the caffeine levels in Starbucks.
.
.
.
Drip coffee: 8 oz 145mg caffeine (I presume 290 for 16 oz)
.
Dunkin Donuts: 16 oz 143 mg
.
Starbucks Grande coffee: 16 oz 330 mg
.
.
.
So... when I can afford the time and cost... it's Starbucks for me.
.
.
And I agree -- it DOES taste burnt.
.
It's the afterburner kicking in that's all I care about.
.
.
Here's a link to Energy Fiend -- one of the most comprehensive
comparative caffeine levels sites around:
