Yes, I am a pirate two hundred years too late.

The cannons don't thunder there's nothin' to plunder
I'm an over forty victim of fate
Arriving too late, arriving too late.

I've done a bit of smugglin'
I've run my share of grass.
I made enough money to buy Miami,
But I pissed it away so fast,
Never meant to last, never meant to last.

I have been drunk now for over two weeks,
I passed out and I rallied and I sprung a few leaks,
But I've got to stop wishin',
Got to go fishin', I'm down to rock bottom again.
Just a few friends, just a few friends.

1. Everyone thinks Jimmy wrote that about himself
but it was actually about a friend of his.

The start of that song is one of the most poignant beginnings to any song I've ever heard. "Mother, Mother Ocean, I have heard your call..."

Great book, tells you how Buffett did NOT piss away enough money to buy Miami.

Edit because I cannot spell "pirate" tonight.

3. I go for younger women. . .
lived with several awhile
Though I ran ’em away, they’d come back one day
Still could manage to smile
Just takes a while, just takes a while

Love those lines--reminds me of my Ex--a pirate if there ever was one.

4. Happy Birthday Lone Liberal!
I'm guessing.

That, or I hope you're enjoying your mellow evening at home with a few drinks and soft Buffett.
