2. I'd like to and it is within my reach
I thought it was pretty, too. But I'm kind of biased. Most people think trucks are pretty......pretty ugly. And always in the way. :)

3. Since it is part of your profession
to be in the way of the car drivers why not with a pretty truck? ;)

6. It is a beaut...
but I thought I had heard things were pretty rough out there for independent-contractor trucker/owners. I mean I could be wrong about that, it's your field and you'd know better than I.

7. Things are still rough for some
But I'm not going totally independent if I buy a truck. There's a large comapny that I would likely lease to that still has plenty of work. The pay wouldn't be as good per mile as with other compnanies during better times, but it would pay the bills. I also need to get some recent over the road experience under my belt and I can do it with the company I'm thinking of. I've been working in a 5 state area for the past 3.5 years.

I can do that until things get better. And I think things will get better, unlike some folks.

10. If you treat them right and there are no manufacturing defects
You might be able to squeeze a million miles out of them before something major goes wrong with the drive train. I've heard of some getting more, but it's not very common. A lot of them get less than that because they aren't always treated so nice.

9. Nice! 100 thousand or a bit more, miles a year so it's not
really a 'high miler'

What's in it? I need details

So you're really thinking of doing some OTR? You'll do well!

11. It's got a 475 hp Cummins hooked up to a 10 speed with overdrive
I think it said it has a 3.73 rear end. Jake brake, Eagle interior, and a 72" sleeper. If I buy it I'll swing by your place and let you take it for a spin. The truck is located in Grand Rapids, MI.
