Look both ways before crossing the road, god darnit.
Okay, I accept that pedestrians have the right of way and that the world has changed from the days when kids were told to watch out for cars, and I accept that in some weird convoluted ideal it now seems normal for a half ton vehicle to have to lock up its breaks to avoid hitting some idiot Suburbican punk who chooses to step into the middle of a busy street without looking. I get that, even though it's stupid as shit. Everything seems dumber since Reagan got elected, so I'm used to it.

But Jesus H. Christ, if you're standing on a street corner talking on a phone, and a little Dodge Neon begins crossing the street, and even though you've been standing there without even looking at the street for the last three minutes you decide suddenly to dart in front of the little Neon with nary a glance at the road, and the Neon's driver, whose head is whipping from side to side to make sure no cross traffic is going to broadside him, happens to look up just in time to hit his breaks before bashing your stupid head off his hood, at least have the decency to not glare at him as if HE had done something wrong. He just saved your worthless, stupid, and probably Republican little life.

Right now I wish I'd hit the stupid little shit. Not killed him, maybe, but at least hard enough to make him drop the cell phone.

We were driving down the lane and the woman didn't even look before she darted out in front of us. I was like "JESUS CHRIST, WOMAN!"

4. Pedestrians who text while walking
I have seen them so many times wandering out into the street, not paying any attention, they are too busy typing a text on their phone. I have seen a couple who were not paying attention to where they were walking and tripped over uneven sidewalks, waterhoses and one even walked into the hedge haha.

5. If you are going to say "darnit" I think it is traditional to preface it with "gosh"...
However you want to slice your bean. I've never heard "god darnit" before. Maybe it will catch on.

I support your message 100%, though. It's important to look both ways before crossing the street. Left-right-left.

6. I was walking on a sidewalk in Philadelphia...
.
...with my head turned toward my friend and talking to her
when I walked right into a parking meter. Caught me solid
RIGHT in the chest and stopped me COLD, it did.
.
Moment of sheer confusion until I figured out what had just
happened. Both of us laughing our asses off.
.
.
.
.
I miss both those asses.

8. Key phrase in this story:
talking on a phone :eyes:

And the car has brakes, babe. Bones of non-alert pedestrians have breaks. ;)

:hi:
