What kind of doggie is this?
I think we're being adopted. He doesn't seem to want to leave our yard, porch, presence.
For the record, he's a sweetie and I want to call him Chuck. The doxie and the beagle are wigging out and the cat simply isn't having it.

His marking are classic German Shephard, but he really is small. He's super skinny.

1. Looks German Shepherd-ish.
Floppy ears might mean a touch of something else as well. Looks like a sweet pup.

2. Looks like your basic Shepherd mix. A few noms appear to be in order.
And he'll be your bud for life.

5. I don't pruport to be an expert ...
... but he has the look of your standard Cutie-Pie Dog, with perhaps a bit of Oh-Ya-Know-You'll-Still-Love-Me-If-I-Eat-Your-Favourite-Slippers thrown in for good measure.

6. He is so totally adorable
My head knows we can't keep him with the other animals and the kid, but he's soooo cute. I've already named him so I think he has to stay.

13. Now you've gone and done it!
Once you've named him, that's it - game over, man - GAME OVER!!!

(He really IS an adorable looking pup - and, hey, you weren't really THAT attached to the kid, were you? I'm sure some nice family would take him in ...)

Best of luck to you and yours - and the new addition to the family! :hi:

8. You can have his DNA tested...

He is shepherd and "something". He looks like a great dog. Maybe he is skinny because he's still young?

10. Yes, I think he's still a pup, a grown pup.
His name is Chuck. I think he might be a little underfed due to being on the run a few days. He has a local humane society tag with a phone # and another 4 digit number. We called the number, but it was after hours and the answering service didn't seem to know anything. He also seems to have some kind of injury to his hip because he is limping, though that doesn't seem to slow him down much when he's on the run. He really wanted to play. We made a bed for him and left food and water. I Hope he'll be ok tonight.

24. That was my take
8-12 mos grown pup. Get him socialized because he'll have issues if he was on the run for long.

Edited on Sat May-08-10 10:32 PM by XemaSab
It looks like a very sweet dog.

Our Maddy is shepherd x WTF, and she's a sweetie!

She's 45 lbs, and she has a similar build.

15. He looks just like all of those Shepherd mix dogs you see every day.
They always seem to be the nicest and brightest dogs. Almost a sure bet at the shelter. The females are no brainers. They train themselves.

21. Did he just show up in your yard?
He's a beautiful dog, but he may be someone else's beautiful doggie. And judging by his thin build, he may be a long way from home.

Or, maybe he was abandoned, and decided to make your house his new pad. :)

22. GSD with greyhound?
I'm thinking greyhound because of the long back legs and generally slim build. If not a greyhound, then it is another type of short-haired hound.

28. this dog belongs to SOMEONE ELSE already
There's a tag with numbers! Someone else is missing their dog.

What would you want someone to do if they found your pup? Hmmm?

Do the right thing here. Do everything you can to find the rightful owners.

29. The tag was for the humane society of a neighboring county.
The first thing we did when he showed up was call the number on it. They were unable to provide any information because it was after hours and no one was there to find out who adopted him.

We set him up on our back porch with food, water and his own blankie but he was gone this morning. :( I guess he's either back home or just wondering on. We hope he shows back up, but wherever he is we hope he's ok.
