Dr. James Dodson-Very Important
Dr. Dobson is going on CNBC to urge every Christian to get involved. I hope you will think about signing this and forwarding to all your family and friends. Dr. James Dobson, with Focus on the Family, pleads for our action.

An organization has been granted a Federal Hearing on the
same subject bythe Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in Washington, DC. Their petition, Number 2493, would ultimately pave the way to stop the reading of the gospel of our Lord and Savior, on the airwaves of America. They got 287000 signatures to back their stand! If this attempt is successful, all
Sunday worship services being broadcast on the radio or by television will
be stopped. This group is also campaigning to remove all Christmas programs and Christmas carols from public schools!

You as a Christian can help! We are praying for at least 1 million signatures. This would defeat their effort and show that
there are many Christians alive, well and concerned about our country. As Christians we must unite on this. Please don't take this lightly.

We ignored one lady once and lost prayer in our schools and
in offices across the nation. Please stand up for your religious
freedom and let your
voice be heard. Together we can make a difference in our
country while
creating an opportunity for the lost to know the Lord.

Please press "forward," CLEAN UP THE MESSAGE, and forward
this to everyone
you think should read this. Now, please sign your name at
the bottom (you
can only add your name after you have pressed "Forward" or
cut and paste
the
text). Don't delete any other names, just go to the next
number and type
your name. Please do not sign jointly, such as Mr... &
Mrs... ... Each
person should sign his/her own name. Please defeat this
organization and
keep the right of our freedom of religion.

:eyes: ...why the sender felt I would be outraged, I have no idea.

Do people realize how silly these sound?

can't ever seem to see the silliness in this one. :hi:

5. The only purpose stuff like this serves
is to ratchet up the sense of persecution some christians want to claim they experience in this country.

And no amount of debunking will convince them otherwise.

I say pack up the complainants, and send them with a stack of bibles to preach on street corners in Saudi Arabia, Afghanistan, and Iraq.

Then they can come back and talk to me about persecution.

8. The woman who sent this to me (neighbor) recently was "born again"
after 39 years of revelry and debauchery. The transformation has been scary and unnerving. She talks of her "presecution" for believing in the Lord almost incessantly. They just got back from two week "mission" to the Dominican Republic. She used to be an awesome and intelligent neighbor. It's just sad.

9. The newly converted are often the most fanatical.
True of just about any ideology or doctrine.

10. She's not being persecuted for believing
She's being persecuted for her incessant prattle about it to people who could not care less.

11. I've thought about going w/Hab. for Humanity to someplace like Mex.
But they say they're an ecumenical organization. I've been wondering how much religious mumbo-jumbo I'd have to deal with. I'd just like to volunteer and help people.

They say they accept folks from all religions, but I've been wondering how much of it you get just out working.

Anyone know? It seems much more true-to-life Christianity rather than the hypocritical crap. I mean-- it's actually performing a service that Jesus would have approved of. But I wonder.

Anyone here a H4H volunteer and could tell me more?

12. H4H is completely secular AFAIK....
...a lot of times churches will organize chapters, but I can tell you that once you're on the job site it's all work and no proselytizing.

15. Cool! Then everyone check into it. It sounds amazing.
I started checking out the Website the other day.

I had no idea you could sign up for trips to build houses in places like Botswana or Bulgaria or Armenia.

What a way to see places you would never see otherwise, meet amazing people, and do something to really make you feel good about yourself and your place on this earth.

And President Carter sponsors trips every year. The organization started in Georgia, so I guess he's special friends with the founder. This year they're going to Mexico. I'm not sure I'll have the money this year, but I'd love to think about it for next year. Get to meet President Carter and do something rewarding.

Thanks for the info!

13. H4H is a great cause to get involved in
And I agree, it's a much more christian action than many 'professed' christians will ever do... ya know, helping your neighbor and all that? ;) Go for it!
