Has anyone else popped open a can of cat food in the morning and run out of the kitchen
just to see what the cats would do?

Mine are still standing there. Blinking.

1. They'd hop up on the counter and eat out of the can.
I've seen it happen.

2. Sorry. I left out that I ran out of the kitchen with the can.
They're still standing there. But two of them are starting to squint.

3. That's different. I think mine would follow me, demanding I hand it over.
But I'll try it this evening and report back.

4. First, I would never do that, as the can has a sharp edge, so I
would never let any cat eat out of the can.
But mine usually waits until I carry him in front of his plate and place him by the food, before he will eat.
He is just not that hungry. I guess.

5. No, I've never done that.
I prolly won't either, as I prefer to keep my legs 'unshredded'. :)

6. Our grandkitty trips me. Our trash can sits in the old butler's pantry off the kitchen.
So if I open the catfood and happen to walk in there to toss the lid first, grandkitty races in and throws himself down around my ankles/feet. If I want to stay upright and not make grandkitty a flat cat, I give him his scoop of food first then toss the lid.

8. Funny, they stuck their head out the doorway looking at me, then they started swatting each other.

11. OK, I just tried it.
One of the three cats followed me, trilling and squeaking insistently. The other two came looking for me within a minute.

These guys are not to be trifled with.

12. Mine are either too lazy or too stupid to figure it out.
My next project will be to go from room to room waking them up.

Thanks for the update.

:hi:
