A column of minutemen just marched by my house/Happy Patriots Day

The Stow Militia just marched down my street.
Beating their drums and playing their fifes.
Marching down to Concord to meet up with other companies, from other nearby towns.
To honor those who were brave enough back in 1775 to stop the British from seizing the powder stored in Concord.

I am so lucky to live in an area so rich in history.
I teach my kids about it every year.


One of my favorite sad stories in of a farmer from nearby Lincoln Ma,
Who upon hearing the commotion outside rushed out to greet Paul Revere,
who he had been told to expect, but by early morning on the 19th
Revere had been captured, and this unfortunate farmer rushed outside and was shot dead by British Regulars,
A Plaque stands on the spot to this day.

Poor bastard, never even got his gun.
