1. Here's my Freudian theory:
Freud said the Mona Lisa is really a guy, cuz he had to come up with some explanation for the strange smile, and being Freud that is what he came up with. So, as everybody knows, guys don't get older: they get more "distinguished looking." So Mona's just become more and more "distinguished looking" over the last few centuries
