1. Good deal!
And good luck! I wasn't the best student and didn't have the best test scores, but I got into the college of my choice. Of course, I would have been better off starting at a JC, but that's just me.

4. Aim High . .
And, in my favorite quotation from Winston Churchill, given to a group of 8th graders (this was the entirety of his graduation speech to them):

NEVER, NEVER, NEVER, NEVER GIVE UP.

Then Churchill sat down. Think those kids remember that speech?

6. Nothing wrong with JC's.
I see nothing wrong with getting the basic requirements that will transfer out of the way at the community college level. Smaller class size, cheaper, closer to home, and a willingness to see you succeed. If I could afford it, I'd be a full time student. Major in Tuesday and Thursday classes and collect degrees.:bounce:

8. That's great, John!
There's nothing wrong with community college if you decide to go that route. Just be sure that the credits will transfer to a four year school if you decide to continue your education. But I preferred the four year college from the get-go myself and I do not regret doing so.

10. Go, go, go!
Follow your interests as best you can (for me those were geology and computers) and never be afraid to ask for help...

I was always afraid to ask for help, or even to admit when I was going down in flames, but I was always lucky enough to have people watching out for me...

You'll make some great memories and maybe some great friends in college.

Geez, I remember I was in the computer lab when they booted the first distribution of BSD Unix...

Oh well, maybe you had to have been a computer nerd back then, but it was way, way cool...
