Yet another shitty day in paradise
Edited on Mon Mar-29-10 02:00 PM by Taverner
The rats are eating their own where I work, and I fear that I will make great rat food.

The knives are out, and the Bernardo de Guy's in their position...now that everyone knows we will not have a "recovery" the only way to shrink that bottom line is to start getting rid of folks.

Add to it that every missed sale, every time a customer drops us, its OUR fault, not the economy's nor any other reason.

Be careful what you say and where you say it...even obscuring yourself is no protection.

And add to that that the market I'm in is shrinking faster than Costanza's unit in a swimming pool.

Add to that that my manager wants to "talk" with me...joy

Sigh...

1. Word of advice?
Not that you asked for one.

Don't type this kind of stuff on a work computer! I hope you know that already, but just in case.

Hope the "talk" goes well & it's just something minor.

3. Oh good :)
Because that sounds just like the kind of place that would have "big brother" procedures in place!

:scared:

4. I'm in sales as well....for now....
At least they say "economy" now...
we used to call it the "e-word" amongst
ourselves because we weren't allowed to
say it out loud!

"It's just something we have to WORK AROUND!".

:puke:

8. You don't shoot heroin?
We NEED it to sit through our bi-weekly
sales/humiliation "workshops".

9. Oh dear...
I've actually uttered that line. :scared:

If you are feeling as crappy as I did when I said it, I feel for you and hope it passes (for the good) soon.

11. My advice would be to get viciously selfish
Find something you do well and become so good at it that you're indispensable.

Or, drink heavily. That works sometimes, too.
