Cat problems......again.
I always seem to post my cat problems. Sorry for that, but thanks for listening and all the great advice you've given.

So, the past few weeks my husband and I have been commenting on what HORRIBLE breath Oscar has. It's like no pet breath I've ever encountered, but I just figured that cat breath is inherently bad. Probably nothing to kick up a fuss about.

But today, Oscar and I were playing and he was whole-heartedly chewing on my sleeve. When he let go I noticed blood all over my sleeve where he'd been biting. I managed to wrestled him still for a moment and get a glimpse of his gums (quite a feat!). They're all bloody!!!!

Gah! What did I do wrong? He's just a kitten still! I'm going to take him to the vet tomorrow, but was just wondering if anyone else has has a cat with similar problems and knows what I may be in store for.

Thanks again.

1. A link for you.
Probably a good thing that you're taking Oscar to the vet.

2. Thanks
I poked around the internet and found similar information. I can't tell which one he has, since I can't look in his mouth for more than a second.

4. I'm afraid I don't understand.
I have a cat with a genuine problem and was asking if anyone had a similar experience. How is that anti cat???

5. Yes, definitely take her to the vet.
We've only had one cat with breath like you describe. She ended up losing about three teeth, but she is right as rain now.
Good Luck! :)

6. bad breath can mean resorptive lesions
Also called (incorrectly) "kitty cavities", it's a condition for which the cure is to, sadly, remove some teeth.

But you also mention that the cat is young, so not sure that these would have had a chance to form yet.

Bad breath in kitties usually means some kind of gum and/or dental problem.

7. this may or may not be true
but I've heard that horrible breath can be a sign of feline diabetes. But that's based on here-say alone
