3. I love it (cause you never realize it's giving you a buzz till you stand up to drive)
But that said, just how hygienic is the sake in that particular picture?

Open air beverages in public venues? Domo arrigatu, but no.

4. Then I would suggest not drinking it while playing Golf...
The lid you see, is closed when the server is not serving the Sake. This is given out free at the Cherry Blossom festival (Yes, they check ID of people who don't look 21). They will open one half of the side, and use the dipper to place the Sake into a plastic cup, then close the lid again. Its been served this way since the days of Edo, when Sake was carried in containers very much like this.

10. Soju

Soju (Hangul 소주; Hanja 燒酒 ) is a distilled beverage native to Korea.

Most brands of modern soju are made in South Korea. Though traditionally made from rice, most major brands supplement or even replace the rice with other starches such as potato, wheat, barley, sweet potato, or tapioca (called dangmil in Korean). Soju is clear in colour and typically varies in alcohol content from about 20% to about 45% alcohol by volume (ABV), with 20% ABV being most common. Its taste is comparable to vodka, though often slightly sweeter because of the sugars added in the manufacturing process. It is widely consumed, in part, because of its relatively low price. A typical 300mL bottle of soju costs the consumer 1,000 to 3,000 South Korean Won (roughly $1 to $3 United States Dollars.)

9. I once heard someone say
Edited on Thu Mar-04-10 11:52 PM by AsahinaKimi
its a "Japanese Lemonade" to someone who asked what "Sake" was.
Wrong!! Chigaimasu!!

1. It doesn't taste like lemonade
2. It will kick your butt if you drink too much of it.
3. It will kick your butt the morning after you had too much of it.

Note: There are two kinds of Sake. The clear kind, which has been filtered. Then there is the white unfiltered kind, which is far sweeter, and is a big favorite among many people. Gekkeikan Nigori Sake is roughly filtered, milky, low-alcohol sake with refreshing fruity flavor.
