Whats the appeal of the luge?
I wouldn't want to try it or watch it.

1. It goes really fast.
I enjoy going fast, but the luge looks a bit scary. Plus, you have to wear a spandex suit, which in my case would be even scarier.

2. Hurtling downhill at high speed with no protection of any kind.
An ultimate thrill.

I enjoy watching it, I think it is one of the more interesting sports in the Winter Olympics.

The steering and control involved means more than just "sliding really fast down a hill".

It takes years to perfect the skills. The peak lugers are in their mid-to-late 30's.
