Howard Stern called Bush a...
..."p*ssy" on the radio this morning. I haven't listened to Stern in over ten years but I've tuned in over the last few weekday mornings to hear what he's been saying. I was sort of using the radio as a snooze alarm this morning so I was drifting in and out of sleep but a guy called in and I think he was trying to say that Bush was a better choice than Kerry and Stern ate the guy for breakfast. Stern was getting more and more forceful and when I heard him call Bush a p*ssy I was suddenly wide awake. Stern won't be around much longer. Damn, just when I was starting to like him.

to pussies, and people who OWN pussies, everywhere.

And if he's trying to get himself fired, it's only because he's got a satellite radio job in his back pocket.

8. No pictures yet, but I just got Evita yesterday
She's a silver grey, with medium length hair who frightens the bejesus out of Abbie (I keep them seperated while I'm at work). Her full name is Evita, but I call her Evie.

10. Congratulations!
An adoptee?

They'll get acquainted w/ each other. You might do the cloth-switch: give them each a t-shirt of yours to "scent up," then switch them, then switch them again, etc. . . . over a few days. Might help.

I live in an apartment so I don't want to go cat crazy. But I just felt Abbie needed a girlfriend (other than me).

I hope they get along

15. That's how it starts
You think your cat needs a friend, so you get another cat and say that's the limit, until the next thing you know you're walking down Hestor Street on a cold February evening, hear a muted meow coming from behind an abandoned store riot gate, you get five friends to come and help lift the gate, try to catch a 10 week old tabby kitty til it runs underneath a parked BMW and into the engine, spend an hour getting the cat out of the BMW then chase it again all over the street until you finally bring it home, name it Beamer and nurse it back to health until it takes over your house.

And then you have three cats.

11. Having the same political beliefs does not in itself earn respect
His allowing of the n-word on air is despicable at best, racist at worst.

13. Nobody's defending that
>His allowing of the n-word on air is despicable at best, racist at worst.<

Considering that there was a series of failures in the control booth to allow that caller on the air in the first place, I don't think that Howard Stern is the only one to blame. You might also remember that Stern not only hung up on the caller, he immediately apologized.

I am thrilled at his recent comments about the Bush administration and his urging his listeners to vote for Kerry. He's even gone so far as to post "recommended reading" at his website. He has the power to turn the campaign, and I believe that he's doing that.

By the way, what's more obscene -- the opinion of a caller that was promptly hung up on, or the 600+ dead and untold numbers of wounded from a war that, unless we manage to vote * out, may go on for years?

20. so let's get this straight
Howard Stern is, at best, despicable, because an idiot engineer didn't censor the racist ravings of a stupid caller? The things one can learn on DU.

25. And some of them make a lot of money because of it.
Because of their association with Stern, they have a bit of fame and can make money on appearances at different things. And I think I just heard that Stuttering John is going to be the new announcer on the Tonight Show, but I'm still wondering if I heard it right.

26. Here's the deal
>But I still have issues with him making fun of midgets and stutterers (although they do come on voluntarily)<

I don't admire everything that comes from Howard Stern's mouth, or everything featured on his show. At the same time, though, he is doing some pretty heavy lifting on behalf of the Democrats right now, and the least we can do is to support him in that effort.

We have the listener numbers of a Limbaugh, and the fact that Howard Stern was so shaken by Al Franken's book (and his experiences with an administration that is actively trying to destroy his career due to his dissent,) that he is actively campaigning for the Democratic nominee.

I'd rather win by Stern's 8 million voting listeners than 500,000. How about you?

Julie

28. And the crucial thing to keep in mind about Howard's listeners
Edited on Tue Mar-23-04 03:07 PM by rocknation
is that many of them are the very undecided Republicans whose support Kerry needs most. By educating them with the facts, Howard can make them vote for Kerry without guilt about not voting Republican, which many of them would be doing for the first time in their lives.

Nonetheless, my pussy is still quite inflamed by what Howard said this morning--and if I actually owned any cats, I'm sure they would be, too.
