Well, they DO do that a lot, but in December, when it gets dark early, they put on a light show in the main
square, the Grande Place (Grote Markt in Flemish) with one of the old buildings as a backdrop. New Age music
coming from hidden speakers and all. I only have a primitive digital camera, and the lights are constantly
in motion, but you can get a slight idea of what I walk past once a week when I'm here in the winter:

Thanks for posting that. I've never spent Christmas in Belgium, but I have extremely happy memories of Advent, Christmas, and New Year's Eve in Germany.

I found the picture in cyberspace, but I did go to Nuernberg during Advent some years ago. I've also seen a couple of diffferent Christmas markets in German towns.
