2. I listened to Dr. Demento every Sunday night on KMET in Los Angeles

he did a 4-hour live show and it was pretty much a must-listen among my group of friends. You could call in requests and he played many rare, oddball and unusual recordings, some of which I have never heard since. Then later he got a nationally syndicated 2-hour show. The list on the page you linked to has many things on it that I don't remember from his KMET shows, they must be more recent.
