Any Monk fans in the lounge? Care to speculate on tonight's finale? *major spoilage*

OK here's what we know so far:

- The six-fingered man is heavily involved.

- From the tape it appears Trudy knew about her impending death before it happened

- Unfortunately the sole witness was killed by a train.

Any guesses?

1. He DOES find out who killed Trudy

Somebody already spilled those beans a few weeks ago. What I wonder is whether he actually dies from the poison. I hope not. I'm hoping that once the issue of his wife's death is resolved that many of is obsessive-compulsive behavior goes away. I really, really, really hope they don't kill him off.

2. Yeah we know that. But the question is who and how.

And is Trudy still alive?

3. My thought is that it didn't have anything to do with Monk. Remember

she was a journalist. Anyway I think that when he finds out that it was not his fault and that they were really after her he loses the guilt and gets better - as better as Monk can.

I am so sad this series is ending. Oh and I don't think they will kill off Monk because how can they have a reunion in 5 years?

4. In a way, I do hope they end the series with him dying...of course, in another way, I hope not...

If they do it right and he dies it will be very sad and very memorable, which I would like. Plus it is a very strong conclusion.
His death, potentially, can make for a very powerful episode.
If he lives, I hope they still have a strong conclusion.

for instance, in Magnum, I liked the penultimate season finale, much more than I liked the series finale.

5. Coach. Coach Killed Trudy.

I'm guessing that he was having an affair with the woman that disappeared and she got pregnant or something and needed to be bumped off. So he had her killed, but was afraid that Monk would find out. He tried to kill Monk, but got Trudy instead. Still, he was able to get Monk off the force, and that's what mattered.
