Has anyone bought a Droid yet?
Edited on Sat Nov-21-09 09:51 AM by lizziegrace
My phone is up for renewal and I was looking at phones with the Android OS. I am not in a position to leave Verizon but need the functionality of a PDA or Smartphone for my practice.

1. My Samsung Blackjack died last week, wanted Android, but the 2.0
phones are not in the UAE yet...

Instead, I got an LG KC910 Renoir. 8mp camera plus can run any Java apps.

Camera is really nice!

5. THAT R-2 unit is an old NYC public trash can on feet.
I always thought it was a butt ugly excuse for an R-2 unit.

9. I'm sorry to be flippant, lizzie. Telephonically speaking, I didn't even know what a Droid is.
I've got a boring, un-glam Samsung flip-phone.

My sense of humor has already got me (unintentionally) in trouble with crim son. I don't want that to happen with us...

Dell is running a promotion: $119 with a new Verizon contract.

10. I "wonder" if the ad agency for Droid ever saw this video, and took inspiration from it.
Nah. Not even the Droid teaser ads resembled this.

11. Yep! Love it!
I never thought I would be a smart phone person. This phone changed my mind.

I had a very good three year old Motorola before, but decided to give this one a try with my upgrade deal. I'm very happy so far!

nope..not planning to
I got locked into a crappy Verizon contract a few years back. The service sucked and the customer service was even worse.

I now avoid anything that has Verizon attached to it

But I'd have to pay full retail for it because I bought a BlackBerry Tour only four months ago, and I'm not eligible for an upgrade price until next July. x(

14. I have the mytouch on t-mobile. Love it. I wanted an iPhone but loathe AT&T so
I looked first for a service that had great coverage in my area, then looked for the phone. There are things I wish I could change about it, but overall I think it's fantastic. It doesn't have as many apps at the iPhone but it's still got thousands. After the first thousand or so, how many more do you really need?

Anyway, I'm a diehard mac person and I think the Android phones are pretty cool.

20. My office mate got one and loves it
He had an iPhone but dumped ATT because of their crappy service. Tried the Blackberry Storm2 and thought it sucked worse than the first Storm. Traded that for the Android and likes it as much as his iPhone.
