The ticket was sold in the lottery's south-central Kansas region which covers 15 counties, including the city of Wichita, lottery spokeswoman Sally Lunsford said Thursday. She declined to give any more details about the winner, or winners, until the news conference set for the afternoon of Friday the 13th

The winning numbers from Wednesday's drawing are 8-12-14-22-29, with the Powerball of 22.

"I would just tell the winner to be ready for a life-changing experience," Lunsford said.

3. Thats the rare one for me. To have even one right number.
But also it's the odds. You are 100 times more likely to be struck by lightening than win the lottery.
And, how many times have you been struck by lightening? Yeah, you see how far you have to go.

4. Actually, I'm probably not.
Lightning is extremely rare in Northern California. :-)

5. It is?? I have seen lightening all over northern California, and
plenty of rain. That is how they have all those woodsy areas up there.
Same here in So Cal. For as little rain as there is down here, I have seen lightening at least ten times in the last year.
Out toward Palm Springs and that area, a lot of lightening.
PS Statistics don't lie.

6. Rain, to be sure, at least in winter.
Lightning would normally only happen up in the Sierras -- a couple of hundred miles from here.
