On edit: I realize that my post title may be misleading. 1/69's mission in Desert Shield was not in Saudi Arabia, but loading and shipping ops in Bremerhaven, Germany. It was our first operational mission since Vietnam. We got our orders to deploy to the Gulf a month later.

and I know you didn't go and paint my CVC helmet, didja?

BTW, the gunner is about to do an MRS update. DUCK!

We used to wear Ski goggles instead of the piece-of-shit army goggles. And we painted our CVC's.
One friend of mine had "PEACE" on his. The fucking Corps commander (Crosby Saint) saw that and said
"we're not in that business" then he had something to say in private to the company commander, and
upon return all CVC's were painted OD. :-)

1-34 Ar '87-91.

Desert Storm came along and we didn't have to go to Ft. Irwin.

Woot.

:woohoo:

That calls for a beer. So does not rolling on to Baghdad. Thank you G.H.W. Bush!

22. Glove shells, leather, black, draw-tab fastened, 2 each.
"No enemy but Peace." That's part of the Marine Corps Rifleman's Prayer, right? That about sums up the Marines for me. Glad I was a Army dogface. And thanking Bush Sr. for not going in to Baghdad brought to mind an image of Dub-ya making the decision to go to war in Iraq by saying: "Daddy, you cain't tell ME whut t'do nomore!" I can't wait until this whole craziness is over...

:patriot: to you, sir!
