Anybody remember those godawful "Airport" movies?

Airport (1970) was decent and was a hit. The sequels were god-awful... Helen Reddy as a singing nun?

And my first thought was, " a nun singing a song with such self-centered lyrics as that one?" Not likely. And the way the bomb situation was handled in the first one? Not likely either.

8. Flying High

Airport was renamed to Flying High in Europe. Down in Israel on the kibbutz, one of the Europeans said Flying High was a great movie. So I went in with anticipation, only to discover it was Airplane, which I'd already seen.

10. If "Airport" gave birth to "Airplane!", in a sense, then it did a good thing in its life.

Also I think it was the first film where the "stewardess/nonpilot flies the plane with radio instruction", a pretty classic movie cliche now, if I recall?

That was kind of cool to learn that the rescue technique was the real deal.
