I fucking love that show.

Funny dialogue and cool episodes.

Plus I a have such a nerd-crush on the woman who plays Angela....sigh. :loveya:

1. Big fan here
:hi:

David Boreanaz is a Philly boy (his dad is the weatherman on our most popular newscast) and plus I loved him in "Buffy" and "Angel"

My SO drools over Angela and Bones herself.

I was a little annoyed at how wildly different the series is from the books, but I got over it. Plus if Kathy Reichs is okay with it, so am I

2. Are the books good?
I haven't read them myself.

I've been a fan of DB since B/A too.

:hi:

3. the books are COMPLETELY different
they're set in Quebec, for one thing, Bones is a middle-aged, sensible woman with good social skills. She's divorced, with a college-age daughter, a drunk and crazy sister, and a kind of sexy ex-husband.

She really doesn't have much of a "team".

The only parallel is the relationship with with the cop, who IS a lot like the DB character (including the surprise appearance of a son later in the series). And the anthropology stuff.

8. If you like DB, it's show worth checking out.
That pic makes wonder where the time has gone. In S1 Buffy, DB is this skinny kid and now (while he doesn't have any wrinkles or gray hair) you can tell time has passed. Mostly because it looks like he's carrying around 35-40 pounds of muscle he didn't have in S1 Buffy!

19. TNT is re-running episodes many afternoon/evenings
Last night they re-ran the pilot episode, which actually followed a TV movie version, apparently.

I love the show, Angela is cool, so is Hodgins - but the ultimate cool person that has been on the show is Angela's father, played by Billy Gibbons:

22. Right now I have loads of time
Recovering still from surgery, no job, business pretty much defunct due to the economy. The days I can't do much physical stuff, I vegetate in front of the tube while hanging out in online forums.

So I am up to date on many of the series that are run during the day - and a lot that are run at 3-6 am, too.

24. Sometimes I watch Cheers from 2am to 3am on the hallmark channel
yes the hallmark channel. heheh. i'm unemployed right now as well but have lots of other crap to take care of as well as quite a few shows and movies to watch before i even think about getting to Bones. since you are laid up in bed - here's a link to a thread where I posted some cool shows to watch. One I mentioned in there - The Larry Sanders Show - has a bunch of eps on Youtube all official and everything cause the website Crackle airs a 30 second ad before each ep. A small price to pay for such a great show.

7. Love the show
All the "good" carachters are way too cool to be real, but it's TV....

And the books are very good, as well, in their own way - Kathy Reichs really gets Quebec! Her main carachter is flawed, and struggling, but is all the more appealing for it.

9. Angela's smokin' hot, but, given a choice...
I think I'd rather run off with Cam. She's got a wicked sense of humor.

Thing I really like about the show is that it doesn't take itself nearly as seriously as CIS and its spinoffs.

20. I think they are going to continue with the rotating interns
Sort of the same theme as Murphy Brown's secretaries, but not as many. If you don't remember, Murphy Brown had a different secretary pretty much every episode. It was a great running joke.

I like Sweets better since they started expanding his character - the fantasy/scifi convention episode was a lot of fun.

25. I hope they keep rotating the interns.
That's a fun part of the show.

Sweets grew on me. He's like Bones and Booth's annoying little brother.

12. I hate what they did to Zack
The rest of it is cool though, but completely different from the books. I kind of wish they had used a different name in the show but I can separate fiction from...well another form of fiction.

Kathy Reichs lives in the same town I do, the big metropolis of Charlotte. It's kind of cool to read a book set in your home town. Silly to folk in bigger cities but I like how Tempe lives on one of the streets I regularly run down.

13. Another Bones fan here,
it's got that silliness to it and plus I can turn my brain off and still enjoy it.

My crush would be Angela also. I like that "live for the moment" attitude in her character.

The plots tend to be repetitious, but the characters make it a hit. And, Angela is hot.

17. I love that show!
There something beautiful and unique about the title character that I can't express, but I find inspiring:

Also, remember what Seeley Booth said, "Minty burp is still a burp."
