Anyone else remember these candies?

I do and everyone I know here, in the same state, about the same age, says they don't!

Warning: If you eat any of these candies, be careful. They may pull out fillings and pull off crowns.

12. Vt. Country Store
Has many "old time" candies;
If you like your candy to be creamy and chewy at the same time, then load up on Squirrel Nut Zippers. These peanut caramels were concocted in 1926 by The Squirrel Brand Nut Co. to complement its chocolate nut caramels. While naming the new flavor, Squirrel Co. (makers of "the ultimate nut") read about a Vermont man who had climbed a tree and had to be talked down. His explanation: "It must have been the Nut Zipper"-a local brew. The Squirrel folks realized they had found the right name. 1 lb. bag contains approx. 57 caramels of one flavor. You get two bags; choose one flavor per bag.

•Peanut caramels popular since the 1920s

13. You can buy them at this great website:
Just enter "Squirrel Nut Zippers" and you will find them available in 2lb or 5lb bags. That's a lot of chewing.
