The Holiday season has begun!
Our local classical station just played Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy from The Nutcracker.

2. I went to Lowes yesterday to get some paint samples
To the right of the entrance where they have their seasonal merchandise, there was a small section for Halloween (one endcap), the rest of the section was all ready for Christmas.

5. Costco has been selling Christmas for about a month now
Since I'm in the market for new outdoor lighting, I am looking at these, especially since Costco tends to sell out early.

Edited on Wed Oct-07-09 04:22 PM by tigereye
only because if I don't get one now, there won't be any good ones left! :hide: But generally, yes, I agree, the X-mas stuff is out too soon.

7. I used to love doing Advent calendars
My aunt made two, one for her daughter and one for me.

During the year, we would buy little trinkets and toys for our calendars, things like funny erasers, or a little pen set. Then, in the fall we would wrap them and attach them to the calendars. Once we filled out the calendar, we exchanged them through the mail.

I got to open my cousin's gifts every day in December and she got to open mine to her. :-) Fond memories.

I still pick up a little item sometimes and think, this would go good on the advent calendar. :D

I really enjoyed a calendar with chocolates on each day, that came from the Fair Trade store.

8. i ended up getting a bunch of christmas songs on my pandora station today
You know how you pick the artists, composers, songs, etc you want and Pandora finds similar music. For some reason, they took my classical choices to mean that I wanted christmas music. made it fun having to explain to co-workers why they heard christmas music, lol.
