New Birthday/Anniversary procedures.

I have decided to apologize, explain more thoroughly and make some changes to the birthdays/anniversaries procedures that I am using. First I would like to apologize to all those that did not like that I searched the old records for birthdays/anniversaries. I felt it was necessary to do a good job, since I am not an Elder and was not here for a lot of the old threads. I felt I had to try to catch up with newyawker99, who had been doing it for all those years. However, I understand why some (maybe many) people are upset about that, so I apologize to all those who disapproved of that method.

Therefore, I have destroyed my old birthday/anniversary database completely. Right now, it is completely empty. I will be starting a new one, but I will never again use the old records on DU to find birthdays/anniversaries (this will, btw, save me a lot of searching time...).

From now on when I ask for birthdays/anniversaries, if you choose to give a date, I will be using it to post a celebration thread, and it WILL go into a database which is and always was intended solely for the purpose of being able to do the same thing again next year. I
will check via PM on the anniversaries in subsequent years (if I make it that far; though NOT on birthdays, I will do those automatically), and WILL NOT post if I do not receive an affirmative reply. You can ask to have your name taken out at any time (and people have in the past). Giving me a date implies that I can post a celebratory thread, and I will!


In addition, whether you give me your age or not, I will NOT be posting it from now on. Finally, due to a previous vote on the issue in the lounge, I still will not be posting for friends/relatives/celebrities; only registered DUers.

Having said all that, I now need birthdays/anniversaries for September! (if you gave me one yesterday, sorry, you need to do it again)
