I enjoyed Rick Wakeman's work in Yes, but he REALLY KICKED ASS AS "Hans" in the first "Die Hard."

10. The thing that amazes me the most about Wakeman...
...is that every time he comes back to Yes, they're messed up by a few more degrees and he's still Wakeman.

I watched "Songs From Tsongas" on the NetFlix Web Site last night, and I'm watching "Starship Trooper," and Wakeman does his bit, and Squire is a bit slower and not quite as dynamic as the old days, and Howe...dear God, he takes the solo at about one half the speed and intensity of the original and looks like Barney Fife about to have a coronary.

I was fortunate enough to see Yes on the Going For The One tour...with Wakeman...and it was killer. I went with friends who had also gone the night before and apparently they had an amazing laser light show that blew a gasket on the night I went, but I didn't care. They SOUNDED great, and that's what mattered to me.

At one point a woman climbed up on the stage and a security guard started dragging her off somewhat roughly and Jon Anderson rushed up and told him to take it easy with her, and the audience ROARED. He had everybody in that auditorium in the palm of his hand for the rest of the evening.

:toast:
