How do you handle rude relatives?

I just called out a niece who is just naturally negative and nasty all the time. I've put up with it for years...her bigotry, her political and social ignorance and today after getting a snarky message on facebook, I sent her a private message calling her out.

This is why I have nearly nothing to do with my family. They are borderline freepers and they don't even know it. This will ripple through the family like a virus, but I just don't give a fiddler's fuck.

This one responded to a post on facebook. I despise facebook and MySpace now. They all found me and my life has become hell.

but I was forced to spend last Christmas with my Mother and her sister, who are both a couple of stark raving loons who call themselves Christians but don't actually act like Christians. I'm a fairly non-confrontational person but by the end of the evening, I was Southern belling it all over the place...aren't you special...honey, why are you being so passive aggressive, Do you think God wants you to say those things?" I'll never make the mistake of being in the same room with those two again!

That is until I can't stand it anymore. But the best way to deal with any rude person is to ignore. Easier said than done I know. But I believe that people like that want a reaction. And it is best not to give them that satisfaction.
