Any Blackberry experts in the house? "Device Error 394"
Starting around noon today my company Blackberry, an AT&T Pearl 8100 has been fucked up. When you turn it on the hour glass rotates three times and then it pops up with "Device Error 394"

Our IT department is pretty much lazy, useless and belligerent (remember the SNL Nick Burns sketches?) and when the reload didn't work accused me of dropping it in the toilet,

A new Blackberry 9000 is being sent to me but it is enormous and I really don't want it and they say I can't have another Pearl unless I find another user to trade with.

A google search for "Device Error 394" just produces a couple dozen pages of "what the fuck does Device Error 394 mean" and no answers or solutions.

Anyone?

1. it means drop kick your blackberry into the garbage
just kidding.

I think you need to re-install the software, but please confirm.

2. the re-install doesn't work
The first step appears to work fine, but at the point where it is "connecting to the JVM" it fails as after three turns of the hour glass it pops up with that error.

3. Have you tried just taking the battery out and putting it back in?
My Curve got messed up once, and I did that, and it went back to working just fine.

4. yeah, and flashing it without the battery
It looks like it might be time to move on, I just like the Pearl because it is relatively small
