and here is one of the dogs we have rescued that needs to find a new home. Please share the video. Maybe one of your contacts would be the perfect home for Eli.

2. Thank you. Eli was a mess when we rescued him.
Bakersfield, CA is not a good place for dogs.

Here is a picture of what he looked like coming into the shelter as evidence in an abuse/neglect case against his owners.

5. I don't want to think of how that combo came about
But I love Eli's smile.

And, I wish this thread would get more comments. If it was about a pit bull biting somebody, it'd have 200 by now.

They're one of my favorite breeds, so sweet.

7. Pit Bulls can be such wonderful doggie companions....
They love their people, they have been much misused and maligned. I have been educated by a friend who rescues them. I hope more people look at both of these videos.

10. And everybody thinks Eli is all Pit Bull...
I have three pits, one golden ret. and a chihuahua. The Golden and the Chihuahua are the two you have to watch out for. The pits only get excited if I pick up my keys or a leash. Walks and rides in the car are all they live for.

Maybe I should have given the thread a different title.

"Vicious Pit Bull..."

9. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
You never know who might end up seeing one or both of these videos and maybe Eli will get his forever home sooner rather than later.

Thank you!

12. Rescuers that keep dogs become hoarders...
I have 5 dogs. Mrs. Pryor has 5 dogs and we have 21 other dogs we are trying to find homes for. All of our rescued dogs are in foster homes (paid). Eli's foster mom is great, but he needs a forever home.

So many times we get a plea from someone about a rescuer with 200, 300 or more dogs/cats that have to now be rescued because they started hoarding the animals. If you can't give them up or work very hard to find each and every animal a loving family to adopt them and you keep "saving" more animals, you get overwhelmed and then can't do anything except take care of the animals. Eventually, the hoarder is unable to even care for the animals properly and that is usually when animal control gets involved and the animals that were once rescued have to be rescued again.

It is always tempting to keep a dog like Eli. But we know there is a perfect family out there somewhere that will be able to give him the love and attention he deserves. It would be unfair to keep him from that.

14. To be honest, all of the dogs I have have issues...
Eli doesn't seem to have any or at least what he does have aren't too bad and can fit into just about any home.

Rescue and hoarding...sometimes it is a very fine line.
