Favorite John Hughes movie?
It doesn't matter if he only directed, only wrote or did both. What's your favorite?

Mine is Christmas Vacation, which he wrote (though didn't direct).

It's a classic.

What about you?

3. If I limit the choices to movies he directed
Then probably Planes, Trains & Automobiles.

Including writing credits then either Vacation or Christmas Vacation.

7. Vacation (the first one)
I admit to totally laughing at this exchange:

Cousin Vicky: And I French Kiss.

Audrey: So what, everyone does that.

Cousin Vicky: Yeah, but daddy says I'm the best at it.

:wtf:  :bounce:

8. Ferris Bueller's Day Off. Did you know he wrote screenplays under an alias?
Edmond Dantes (the character from Count Of Monte Cristo)

He kept his real name off of The Beethoven movie series...smart man.

17. The Breakfast Club was my era. I was a little younger than the characters
and it was really very memorable to my young impressionable self.

But for pure fun? I'd have to say Ferris.

But Pretty in Pink and James Spader as Steff? SWOON!

Shit, though. He wrote Weird Science. Sixteen Candles. All defining movies of my generation.

Why are my generation's artists dying? Michael Jackson. John Hughes? Damn - they were both huge parts of my teenage years!
