Summer Rain - Johnny Rivers
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jdUQ6GhiD-U

Summer Rain taps at my window,
West wind soft as a sweet dream.
My love, warm as the sunshine,
Sitting here by me, yeah.
She's here by me.

She stepped out of a rainbow,
Golden hair shining like moonglow.
Warm lips, soft as her soul,
Sitting here by me, now.
She's here by me.

All summer long we were dancing in the sand,
Everybody just kept on playing,
"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
We sailed into the sunset,
Drifting home, caught by a gulf stream.
Never gave a thought for tomorrow,
Let tomorrow be, yeah.
Let tomorrow be.

She wants to live in the Rockies,
She says that's where we'll find peace.
Settle down, raise up a family,
One to call our own, yeah.
We'll have a home.

All summer long we were grooving in the sand,
Everybody just kept on playing,
"Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band."
Winter snows drift by my window,
North wind blowing like thunder.
Our love is burning like fire,
And she's here by me, yeah.
She's here by me.
Let tomorow be.

7. Actually I don't remember this ....I'm surprised at that, but I really don't
just looked it up on Johnny's website and has some nice songs on it. I'd especially love to hear him do People Get Ready and Rock Me On The Water . BTW, I actually have an extremely tenuous connection to a Johnny Rivers song( a story which also showcases my apparent lack of a "commercial ear"). In 1977, some members of a band called The Funky Kings came to see the band I was with at the legendary Okie's , in Albuquerque. ( Their drummer was from here and both he and his brother, also a fine drummer, were friends of some of us). We ended up getting stoned with a couple of them during a break and one of em, a guy named Jack Tempchin ( who, I didn't realize at the time, had also written Peaceful Easy Feeling and Already Gone), asked if any of us had heard the Kings' new album .I was the only one who had, and he asked me my opinion on whether anything stood out as a possible hit single. I told him that honestly, in just having listened to it a couple of times, nothing really stood out... Not long after that , Johnny Rivers released his version of Slow Dancin, Swaying to the Music and of course it became a huge national hit. So much for my ability to recognize a sure-fire hit when I hear it...

12. I'd never heard of her before - but there is another "Summer Rain" song I was trying to find
And I found that one. I'm going to have to look for more of her songs!

And I totally forgot to keeping looking for that other song...
