aside from my usual ailments, this week I have a pinched nerve in my neck, a badly bruised and painful left wrist from a botched IV at the hospital for said neck pain. My right wrist is stingy cause I got a tattoo on Saturday, but I brought that one on myself so no bitching! The percocets are making me itch, non issue cause I just took my last two until my doctors appt tomorrow. I have cramps. And last night I broke my god damn toe.

I have confined myself to my room, and bed as much as possible because the way my luck is going this week I'll probably walk into a wall, fall down a flight of stairs, or fatally stab myself with a spoon trying to eat soup.

I seem to get hot and sweaty when it doesn't seem like the temperature is high. Then I feel so icky i wish I could take another shower.

23. I have a talent for screwing myself over with my enthusiasm...

I truly do...let's say I meet a nice woman at a party and we really get along and talk for hours. There is a 80% chance that any guy who isn't me is going to get a date out of it. Me? I say something truly stupid or turn-off-ish with a big grin trying to be witty...then thinking they didn't get it...I repeat myself. Twice.

I just applied for a job with the New York Public Library. I really really want this job; I've always wanted to work there and I truly love books, words, and the pursuit of knowledge. It's too bad that on second glance, I realize that my cover letter is scary enthusiastic and mildly-creepy. I went on for 4 lines about how I used to spend my every waking minute with my nose in a book and the sheer joy I felt when I discovered that NYC had a library with rooms larger than my small-town local library filled with books. I ended by saying that I'd take any position that they wanted to offer me from fundraising to research to putting books on the shelf to sweeping the floors as long as I got to work for the NYPL.

mostly because, as my therapist says, I have too good of a filter. I THINK it, I just don't SAY it. It's a hard-earned skill, let me tell you.
