What factors influence people's decisions about what to include or exclude

from their profiles. I find myself reading information in posts revealing gender, age, geographic location, marital status, really a lot more information than is contained in a profile.

Checking the profile shows NO information.

I'm not questioning people's privilege to say or enter whatever the hell they want- I'm just curious about why, what factors affect that decision.
