Hey guys, I could use some advice about a new cell phone.
I'm in the market for a new phone, and I'd like to get something cool and functional.
I'm not looking to spend a ton of money (it doesn't have to be cheap, but I'd prefer not to spend a ton on it either).
I want something I can do a lot of neat stuff with, but is relatively easy to use.
Finally, my carrier is Verizon, so it needs to be something they offer.
I've been looking at information on Cnet, and the Blackberry Curve looks kind of nice...but what do you guys think?
Any recommendations? :hi:

1. I use the Blackberry Curve
no complaints, except that I sometimes have trouble with getting calls dropped because I live in such a rural area. I have verizon, too. That problem doesnt exist as soon as I leave this area.

It is really easy to use, easy to type, easy to browse the net with.

I guess my only complaint is that I can only set one alarm, I need a 5:30 a.m. weekday alarm, and a 3:30 a.m. weekend alarm, so I just have to remember to reset it every Friday night, then set it back on Sunday.

2. I'm really happy with the Curve
It takes a bit of getting used to after an ordinary cell phone but it's got one thing going for it - damn it's loud. I can actually hear what people are saying.

4. I just got a Blackberry Curve last week, and it cost me nothing.
It was time for me to renew my contract with Verizon, and I had gotten something in the mail saying there were several phones I could get for a good price. Went to the Verizon store, and it turned out that I got the Blackberry for free. I bought a few accessories for a total of $49, but had I not done that, I would have walked out of the store paying nothing.

I really like the Curve, too!

8. Storm
Hi,
I have a BB Storm that I am using for all kinds of time wasting stuff while taking the bus to work. One thing I would be sure to do is get unlimited data if you are going to get one of these things.

Peace

20. I got a BB Storm a couple of weeks ago.
It took some time to get used to a touch screen. The more I use it, the more I love it.

9. I use the Curve for work.
It does what I need it to do. Full keyboard right there is nice. My wife has an iPhone, and I'll be damned if I can type on that touchscreen.

11. Just remember that a crackberry or an iphone is going to require a data service
Which is going to cost you more per month if you just have a basic phone. Naturally you're going to get all the crackberry features for the premium service price, but the monthly costs add up pretty quickly.

There's a few phones that are just below what you get with a smartphone, but still have a lot of features and are taylored more to a traditional basic phone service.

15. The Verizon Juke is not great for texting but it is a great tiny little phone
I have one and have ALL my iPod music transferred over to it
I think I have 200 pictures stored on it too

this thing fits in my hand easily and it is no problem carrying around in my pocket
battery lasts a good long time
the camera is okay but not great
also the earphone jack doesn't take a normal iPod set so I have to use the Verizon one that it came with

the "switch blade" opening is pretty cool too, I think

17. I got an LG enV(2) at the end of April and I love it.
I left ATT and joined my husband and daughter on a Verizon family plan. When I did that I got this phone and I have to say I've been happy with it. I left ATT in favor of Verizon because of coverage isues, but I gotta say that with this particular phone I have had stronger signal than my husband and daughter.

The only negative I have with the phone is that the exterior display is a little smaller than I'd like--but the interior screen is huge so it is a minimal problem, IMO. It has a great kwerty keyboard--easy to use, and roomy compared to a lot of them.

I have seen reviews that bitch about the photo quality with this phone, but even that has not been a problem for me. I took some really nice pics on our last trip, and I absolutely adore the ability to do minimal photo editing right there on the phone. I figure that if I am looking for fashion quality photos I better just use a freaking Nikkon rather than a cell phone--ya know?

YMMV.

19. Hey DM, I got a new Blackberry Curve in Feb and I LOVE it!
I'm on Verizon as well. It's been great and I don't know why I didn't get one much sooner. I love having a QWERTY keyboard for texting, which I do b/c I have teens. :)

Have fun! :hi:
