The insomnia is beginning; insomniacs check in!
Ah, another night and another episode of insomnia. It's 11:30 and probably will not be tired for a few more hours.

Time for booze.

3. Here and accounted for...............
chronic insomniac. I have chronic back pain so I'm only able to get 3 or so hours of sleep at a time, then I have to get up , take some pain pills (prescription, Rush) some muscle relaxers, then I'm off for 3 more hours. It sucks, but I'm able to keep up on world news all night, so if anything happens, I'm ready.
We have a fair amount of insomniacs here at DU, I think it's mostly the times we live in. The pressures of the 2001 century get to people.

7. *ugh* with the back pain
I remember when I was an undergrad.... I would be home for a few weeks at a time, and my dad (who also has wretched chronic back problems) would get up every 2 or 3 hours to watch tv *standing up* to soothe his back. Man, I sympathize with ya x(.

6. lucky I don't have to get up in the a.m.
'Cuz I'm on spring break!

I was lying in bed and found myself thinking about the elections in Spain and just had to read the latest. Glad I got up to read--this is really encouraging.

9. Yo! Right here; checking in.
3:03 AM Manhattan time. The city is completely dark outside my windows except for a few bright windows down the block.

16. 2:20 a.m., and I still have things to do...
I've been putting together a *(^$%#)!!# file cabinet all night (some assembly required, hah!:)) And now that that's out of the way, I've still got some nightly chores to finish before hitting the sack, which means reading for 1 1/2 hours first.

I've been a hard-core night-owl since high school. The pattern never changes, no matter what measures I try.

I actually enjoy the wee hours -- most of the city is abed, it's quiet and peaceful, and some of my best creative ideas occur at this time of night (morning?).

Unfortunately, the rest of the world isn't particularly sympathetic to the plight of the insomniac.
