1. The legend of MJ has always painted Katherine in a positive light.
There was always the idea that Joe abused her as much as he did the boys. Obviously, I don't know any more than you do. I just don't want to rush to judge her.

What *would* the right situation be?

2. That is kinda what I thought as well. His father wasn't mentioned in
the will at all. At least that is what I heard. But I guess since the kids are going to her, they will also be with Joe.

3. I don't know why I thought they had separated.
I guess I was wrong? Katherine has always been a staunch supporter of the kids, and Joe only shows up for the spotlight and $$. I guess I thought they weren't together anymore. Interesting. I bet they spend very little time together, but I could be wrong.

7. You know they may have separated. I haven't heard that, but I can't
say I have heard much at all about his parents in a while. Michael clearly wanted them with his mom. And really, who else is out there to keep them? Maybe one of his siblings?

I am not sure about the biological mom of these kids either. I think Debbie Rowe is the mother of two of them, and the third has a different mother.

24. No, I'm certain that Joe and Katherine Jackson are still together
I remember reading that the Jackson children came together earlier to celebrate their wedding anniversary -I think their 60th?. Plus I read another article stating that Joe Jackson supported his wife's custody petition so I think it's relatively certain that they are together

11. Me too, I thought they had divorced a long time ago. But I heard
this morning that they have been living apart for years - she in LA and he in Las Vegas. I guess they just never legally separated or divorced.

Just keep him away from the kids!

8. Which is typical for the spouse of an abusive parent
She was probably his protector when MJ was a kid but she never did anything to make it go away.

or were they adopted?

6. Michael always claimed paternity
...but there have been a lot of questions, mostly by stupid tabloids. Who knows.

13. I don't think he ever claimed them to be his
biological children, but when a married couple has children and both parents are listed on the birth certificates those are the legal parents.

I could be wrong, but that is what I have always believed.

17. Yes, that's the way it is. Jackson was the legal parent of the two older ones by default
because he was married to their biological mother at the time. The third child would have required some paperwork but it would be foolish to go to all the trouble of arranging for a surrogacy without the necessary paperwork making him the legal father of the child.

14.  I think it's widely assumed he's not the bio father
I'm pretty sure the sperm donor would not have legal rights to the kids though. Don't they pretty much have to sign off parental rights. Anyway I think way too emphasis is being placed on the egg and sperm donors for these kids. I know lots of people who are champions at reproducing but suck at parenting. The best interest of the kids should outweigh all DNA ties. (in not only this but any other child custody matter)

19. They are not his kids and they are not adopted.
They were given birth to by surragate mothers who are also not their biological mothers. To me they look like they all have the same face. Could there be cloning involved?

This also raises a question to me. If it is illegal for a person to sell their child, how is it not illegal for someome like this to buy children? If the children were any way related to him (his sperm) or the mothers, then it might be different, but when you pay someone for their eggs and sperm and then pay someone else to have the child, are you not buying said child? How is that different than paying someone for their baby on the black market?

Flame away!

22. the news this morning
KTVU in the Bay Area, reported that the two older kids are not his nor are they Debbie Rowe's biological kids. The fertilized eggs were implanted into her as a surrogate. This could get even more strange.

12. She's getting up there and Joe Jackson is also and is just...not right in the head
I imagine one of MJ's brothers or sisters will ultimately end up raising the kids.

I am not real sure how upstanding they are. At least that Debbie Rowe woman seems questionable. Who knows?

18. I would assume MJ's will would make clear if Joe was to have access to the kids
Believe me, with all the $$ Michael had to pay his attorneys, if he didn't want his father near them, Joe wouldn't have a chance.

that the attorney did what s/he should have done, that is, asked the question and followed up.
