Someone hands you a BB gun.

There is a mother robin sitting in a nest.

The person who handed you the BB gun will legitimately give you 10 million dollars if you shoot and kill the mother robin.

Would you do it?

Reminds me of an episode on TV.

Guy knocks on a door and enters a couples house, he sets down a box with a big button on top, and he makes the couple an offer. If they both hit the button then two people will die, one for each push of the button. They will be people they have never met, and do not know, nor will they ever hear about what happened to them. In exchange they get 10 million dollars.

After much thought the couple pushes the button.

The guy gives them the 10 million and tells them 2 people they have never met, and do not know died. Then he starts to leave

The couple asks where he is going.




He tells them he is going to make the same offer to two different people. Two people that will never meet THEM, that will never know THEM, and would never hear about it if they passed away.


So with the memory of that lesson, I am pretty sure I would not hurt the Robin :)

sure I would like to think I am not for sale. However 10 million is a lot of money and I am sure rationalization would be a strong temptation. You could argue to yourself that you could give a million to animal groups to make the bird's sacrifice worth it, while pocketing a cool million

I can't stand any type of gun

When I was 14 I lived in a foster home. My foster brother got a co2 powered bb pistol for his birthday.
We went into the woods to do some target practice and I was shot in the mouth when a bb ricocheted off a tree and shattered my front teeth. I had to have massive dental work done to replace 7 teeth and the pain was horrible.
