I'm a little late to the game, but can I please recommend the 1997 film "Casshern"?

It's Japanese, the plot is a bit...Japanese...eom

It was advertised as a "superhero" movie, and it has
a few scenes that are like that- expensive Matrix-style effects...
Some great(honestly- really great) fighting scenes...

But those scenes are just a backdrop to a GREAT anti-war message.

Speaking of "backdrops", this film is the most amazing piece of
SteamPunk CGI I've ever seen.

The folks who worked on George Lucas' last three "star Wars" movies
should look at this film with the sound off, and then kill themselves.
