Is feeding your pets a "big production"?
The kitties eat at the same time every night and they both have to be here. They eat out of the same bowl (two kitties). They are usually around, but if not then I bang on the canned cat food tin with the knife and they hear it and come a runnin'. If they hear the can actually being opened, they go apeshit. Then I talk to them in my kitty voice, and say "It's dinner time fo' kitties, It dinner time fo' kitties!"(I know, pathetic). They split one can of wet food every night and then I keep a bowl of dried food filled for whenever they might be hungry otherwise.

1. You could say so, yes.
With 14 mouths...well, you get the idea.

2. Well, they all like to get underfoot while I'm putting their food down.
And the meow chorus starts in if I'm not quick enough about it.

But they're not bad.

3. I let my dust bunnies eat what they want
As for my three parrots, they get good vegetable matter (pellets or fresh)... and dried papaya as a treat but I might be better off feeding them fresh papaya...

4. I'm certain my dogs WISH
it was an even bigger production. I have to put their food and water in their bowl, announce that the meal is served, several times, and then sometimes I have to announce what good boys they are while they are eating. Not doing so might cause them to pause, stare at me for encouragement, and/or lose interest in their meal.

Perhaps I might dress up in French Maid outfit and then alert the media that they have decided to eat.

I still love them, spoiled that they are. I have only myself to blame.

5. I hug Little Skeezix and tell her what a vicious, VICIOUS beast she is. In kitty voice, of course.

12. My father called all little kids 'Skeezix'. She moved in with us as a kitten, so she got the
nickname as she was much younger than the other two cats - Anwar and Mr. Peabody.

7. My two rat dogs have made it into a full length feature....
Zeus starts stirring around 5am. If I don't respond he will stand on my chest and start licking my face, hitting every single spot. The tongue in the nostril will usually get me to finally (in his mind) get up. Then I have to lift Egypt off the bed (she's fully capable of jumping, but prefers the puppy-vator).

We file downstairs and I let them out. Within 90 seconds, Zeus is back, doing some sort of puppy moonwalk on his back legs, with the front paws swaying back and forth. Once I put his food down, it is gone before I can turn my back on him. Egypt meanwhile, has returned and once I put her food down, I have to sit on the kitchen floor while she goes back and forth between her dish and my lap with a kibble on each run. If I get up, she stops eating to follow me and Zeus swoops in for her portion (believe me, he is not starving either), so there I sit on the floor.

Repeat when I get home from work (save for the face wash from Zeus)

Nope, my dogs aren't spoiled one bit.

8. "Big" for my cat, "Expensive" for my dog
My cat raises hell when his food bowl runs dry. Shrieking meows.

My dog is fantastic, flexible and awesome, but his food costs a lot because I refuse to feed him the cheap stuff and have another precious dog die of cancer. Thankfully there are new organica products for dogs, and I'm so happy about that.

Money is nothing. Give me a dog that doesn't die of cancer at the age of six...

10. Thanksgiving and Christmas and birthdays - yes. Otherwise...
There's an old Far Side cartoon.

Two dogs watching dinner being prepared.

"It's DOG food again!" (Enthusiastic looks)

11. Yes, thank goodness the kids help.
Both doxies have a food put into their bowl twice daily. Neither one of them will touch it unless it is 'fresh' and inside their crates. If you pull out the bowls or there is old food in there (more than a day), they won't touch it.

The chinchillas get fresh hay and pellets each evening, but each of them get a different treat. The male goes crazy if he doesn't get his treat before his regular food by jumping all over his cage. The female will only take her treat if I give it to her while she's on her wheel.

If the hedgehog wants more food or doesn't like what's in her bowl, she pushes it against the cage again and again making crashing sounds. It took us awhile to figure out why, but we finally got it.

The kitties have a timed dispenser so their food is always 'fresh.' Occasionally the maine coon kitty will shove over the entire dispenser to make it all come out at once. Ugh.

14. Yeah
Beag gets plain dry in her unlocked crate and Mick gets dry with milk or some meat scraps in the bedroom (door closed). Beag runs back and forth repeatedly to see if she can get in to eat his food. Mick will bark when he's done to get let out. Then, Beag will run frantically in to see if he has any left, then act pissed and sulky when he doesn't.

Ginsberg (cat) is hungry 24/7, but most things make him puke, so that's a constant annoyance.

kibble. Tonight we grilled some chicken breasts for him.

17. No.
My little doggy doesn't eat a lot, but she does like when you sit on the floor and then she grabs some food and brings it over and sits in your lap while she eats. :)
