1. No, but I'm not half-bad at Italian cooking myself....
Be quite a road trip, though. :)

5. When I was younger, I always wished I were Italian or part Italian...
Being 100% Scandinavian seemed so boring to me.

12. I've never actually tasted it.
I've been in the same room with lutefisk, according to my mother - she said it was served at some family event when I was around two, and as soon as I smelled it, I cried.

17. That's true.
I'd never mess with a lutefisk eater.

I stick to lefse when it comes to Norwegian food.

Just got back online. Sorry I didn't reply before, but I was in a Cessna:scared:

I'm in a hotel in Fort Myers right now.

I walked by and checked out the fitness center (dark) and then went to get a Heineken.:toast:

The other email addys were for the webmaster or something, I thought.

31. It depends
My dojo is $90 unlimited, which includes weapons classes. Technically, you could go to 13 classes a week, and there's only two senseis. Since we're poor but committed, we get a deal for $45 a month. Some places let you just pay a fee per class.

It's right by the Trader Joe's.

Thanks for the info. There's another great Italian place (not where we went tonight) in Morris Plains called Il Villagio. It looks kind of like a diner inside, but the food is incredible, and they have an attached Italian deli. Their homemade pumpkin ravioli are to die for. Unfortunately, you can only get them in the fall.

26. Aw, that sounds so damn good........
There's nothing better than good Italian food, and there's nothing worse than bad Italian.

Il Villagio sounds like a place you can call home.

Yep, found their website - http://ilvillaggiorestaurant.com/. Definitely a down-home Italian place. If I lived there, I'd be a regular - you can tell from the menu.

I'm jealous, but I'm glad you had a good time. I'd kill for an Italian deli nearby, and that pumpkin ravioli - just the idea of it makes me teary.

Of course, I've watched "Real Housewives Of New Jersey," and that show has me all homesick for my childhood...............

Yeah, the pumpkin ravioli has a nutmeg-spiced dough and the filling is a light pumpkin-ricotta.

We love "Real Housewives of NJ."

LostinVA's Sicilian dad was up here on a business trip and that's where he was taken. It was a few months ago, and he still talks about Il Villagio.

22. Mr. and I went to Maggiano's today for lunch. It was delicious.
Chicken saltinbocca, fried zucchini, tomato caprese. Yum.

However, the trip to Short Pump was a bust. Yankee Candle is closed. :(

25. Yankee Candle stores give me a headache
Yet individual Yankee Candles do not.

We ended up with a "Vegetarian" brick oven pizza (topped with onions, peppers, mushrooms) and LostinVA was "craving meat" (not that kind, Flvegan), so she got a side of meat balls (still not that kind, Flvegan).

32. Just get some expensive extra virgin olive oil. Boil spaghetti. Drain. Add
oil and grated parmesan cheese. Yummy.
