Whale Wars.
What do you all think? I like the fact that someone is out there doing this, but I also wouldn't ever join up.

That's where I currently stand.

1. Is that back?
It's worse than watching some car wrecks, because the management is so caught up in their righteousness that they refuse to believe that they have no fucking business being on a ship, any ship, in any waters, anywhere in the world let alone leading a handful of 20-somethings to their inevitable drownings/burnings.

2. I did notice such weirdness.
"Oh, you like helecopters but have no real experience? Great we need a senior helecopter specialist and you'd be perfect for the job!"

Sometimes trial by fire is the best way to learn how to do whatever it is you need to do, but that is one reason for my unwillingness to be more involved.

3. I love Sea Shepherd, and I'd be thrilled to have the opportunity to crew with them.
I think it's kind of shameful that the show focused particularly on the problems that SSCS had. But to be honest, how much excitement is there day to day when during a three month campaign, they might engage the fleet 3 or 4 times? They needed something to make folks tune in every week. There are going to be problems when you have an all-volunteer crew, 95% of whom have likely never been to sea.

Peter Brown acting like the biggest dumbass on the ship doesn't help either.

I am quite thankful for the show, however. It brought SSCS a good bit of income, and they're buying an additional, faster boat.
