I'd already seen the second link there... but the first one was new. Sadly that guy got a few things wrong in there.

The one that burrows into snails' eyestalks doesn't go away with the bird... that's the eggs... the worm stays in there so that after the snail's eystalks have been ripped off, they can grow back and the worm can do it again and again.
