Good morning Lounge
How are you today? Did you have a good start into the new week? I had a good start. Can't really complain. Of course chatting with you guys here helps a lot :)

3. Good morning girlfriend
:hi:  :loveya:

Thank you :) For some reason I am fascinated by sculptures. I know it isn't art to take pics of them but I try my best to take at least interesting shots.

I am doing fine. I enjoy my condo as much as on the first day and really feel at home there.
Work is busy, which is kinda good in days like these :)
I have friends and family.
I can't really complain.

How are things with you?

I'm doing well.

MrSG, my daughter and my SIL took me to lunch on Mother's Day, which was nice.

Work is busy for me too, which I also think it good.

Nice to see you, gf.

8. Most of the time
I think also that photography is art too. But with sculptures I think you need to have a certain angle so that it isn't just a picture of a sculpture.

Oh nice, what kind of food did you have? Something special?

The kitty's name is Simon. And he lives with DUer AirmensMom. I love and miss him. When I visited AM, we went to PetsMart and I fell in love with that furball. AM was so kind to take him in with her. I get updates regulary. He is now 2 years old.

Do you have pics of your kitty?

At the moment they are trapped on my phone and I am not smart enough to get them to my computer, which has been particularly unruly lately when it comes to photos.

I do plan on posting a video soon, when I figure that out. New flip camera, got it for Xmas and I think it's what threw my whole system for a loop.

One day, when I'm able to get out of the lounge long enough, I might figure it all out!

One day...

Her name is Patience, BTW, and she looks like a russian blue, but she's totally a dumpster cat. Found her at one of my catering gigs.
She is truly perfect.

Glad to hear that your day is going good and that you're busy at work. I've got several meetings at work today, so I think the day will go fast. Meetings seem to always put me behind in my work, but sometimes they are necessary.

Just got a bunch of ordered books delivered. I know what I will do this afternoon. I love cataloging new books.

31. Good Morning MissH....
I feel like it has been forever since I've seen you! :hi:

The week has had ups and downs so far, and it is only Tuesday :banghead:

I have to deal with a lot of legal divorce junk - seems STBE is trying to see if he can get any financial gains out of me, and basically wants me to pay him 15k for a quick divorce. Otherwise he plans on drawing it out for another year or so :nuke::mad::nuke:

BUT yesterday I received a mother's day gift (they tried to deliver it friday) from P. :bounce::bounce:

It was so sweet of him to send me a gift, and he actually went to the place and hand-wrote a little card - didn't even use the online option :wow:

I was completely shocked. The STBE once told me that he didn't feel he needed to acknowledge mother's day to me since I was not his mother nor had I given him a child - what an a**hole.

50. A painting. And it is HUGE. It's credited with being one of the first
major works painted from a perspective that the artist could not have physically seen.

He painted large, almost fantasy-like landscapes, many of South America, and people would pay money to sit and stare at them.

It is a painting without a foreground of any kind.

Come to Washington, DC to see it! It's at the Corcoran right by the White House.

I will for sure. It looks like I could get lost in the painting myself.

I also want to see the new Native American museum. Last time I was in DC end of 1999 it wasn't even built. I swore myself I would come back to visit it. Better keep my promise to myself, huh? :)

On painting that fascinates me is "Crucification" by Salvador Dali. I am not a big fan of his but that painting .... :wow:

It's really fascinating. Who thought there could be a 'new' take on that subject? I'm going to pass that one on...

The Native American Museum gets mixed reviews. The building is absolutely delightful and a real 'plus' on the Mall. I'm not sure in which way the exhibits have changed or remained the same since it opened. The national Pow Wow was great. They need to do that every couple of years.

http://www.glasgowmuseums.com/venue/index.cfm?venueid=13

I didn't know that Dali was hanging there. So I walked through and suddenly was standing on a balcony, looking at the painting on the wall across the room. The painting is huge and made quite an impression on me.

I am very interested in the history of Native Americans.

73. Oh cool
I bet that makes for good stories :)

But now that Scotland is having its own parliament, it isn't as crazy as it's been. I love Scotland. Gorgeous scenery, nice cities (I prefer Glasgow over Edinburgh - don't tell anyone), very nice people and a beautiful language. I love the melodic English they are speaking.

:hi:

Missed logging on earlier, had to do some work at work (shocking, I know :o). Weather is cooler and overcast, but not raining. We need the rain to stay away on the weekends for renfest.

90. I start at 8am
normally, but a crisis has appeared and I've been here earlier. Between phone calls and e-mails, I didn't have time to log on earlier.

59. Good morning!
I'm off today and slept late for me. Enjoying a cup of coffee after feeding all my critters.

It's another beautiful day in the Florida Keys. (Unfortunately, we REALLY need rain.)

Do you know, years ago, I actually got lost in the Louvre?:P

How many critters do you have? And what kind of critters?

I am not surprised. It is a rather a big museum :) I was searching a lot till I found "my" Michelangelo.

83. I have three cats
that are specifically and have always been "mine". Then another cat of a dear friend who died unexpectedly last year. She had made arrangements for it, but they fell through so now he lives with me. Another stray who lives in the yard - I supposes she thinks she is mine now.

Two large dogs, one of which is 14 and sadly, starting to show it. They were both dogs that had been thrown away and somehow crossed my path.
Here's a picture, the elder is the reddish one:

Did you make a call yesterday? What did you find out?

I got nothing done yesterday:o It was so cold and rainy All Day. I did handle some business by phone. Mother left late in the afternoon.

78. It might have been
on a pedestal above me, so that I took the pic looking up. As we know, images appear bigger that way.

Yes I called yesterday. He hasn't been able to do my schedule yet but will give me a call back this week. If not I will call him next week again.

So you can do your applications today, can't you?

85. I was IMing last night with a
Nurse that I used to work with at the Hospital. Things are not good. She was advsing me to hold what I've got.

I wish the Health Care situation would be settled already. I am ready to be either a state or Federal employee. The way it is now, it is a Huge Mess.

you don't have to take them if you don't like them. But get an idea what else is out there.

87. That is what I told her
It is pretty cut throat right now. Rumor has it that my Boss has been giving Bad references on ex- employees which is illegal, but does not change the fact that it is hindering their job search.

89. well, I am staying out of it, since I am still
employeed there, but I think some ot the ex-employees have gotten together and are tying to get something done.

A lot of this type issue would be resolved if we had a National Health Care Plan and if we were Goevernment Employees.

Management and Administration would take an entirely different role.
